Chicago Cityscapes....

I took my new 24mm lens to Chicago with me so I could try my hand at some cityscapes.  Have a look....

I liked the reflection of the other building in this building.

I did notice that when you shoot vertical with the 24mm lens, the buildings appear to lean.  It was strange and I don't know how to fix it.  Shooting horizontal you can't tell anything at all.

You'll notice that on the stairs is a couple and their photographer...I'm thinking they were practicing for their wedding.

I really like the blue tipped building in the far center back.

It was difficult to get this shot and get the entire building in the shot.  I liked the way it turned out though.

Train ride to Chicago

I tried taking some shots from the train window as I was on my way to Chicago a couple weekends ago.  It proved more difficult than I thought, but here's the results.

This one is as the train is speeding down the track.  I thought it was kind of cool that you can see the farmhouse in the distance and the trees speeding by!

I thought this one looked cool just because of the depth involved with the tree in front and that building in back.  I don't know what kind of building that is, but I'm thinking maybe a church of some kind?

Some photo as above only done in black and white.  Totally different look.....very bleak.

Odd shaped building along the side of the tracks.

I liked the idea behind this one......road going where?

The depth on this one is nice as well.....the river flowing to the skyscrapers.

Christmas moon....

So, here was my attempt at the moon Christmas Eve night and then early Christmas morning.  I left my tripod at work, so this was freehand and resting on the deck railing.  Needless to say, I had to leave the aperture wide open and crank the ISO way up...otherwise, there would have been so much shake nothing would have turned out.  On top of that....it was crazy cloudy and I could hardly see the moon at all.  The pics straight out of camera looked like I was shooting old school black and white.  But, I treated a couple of them just for fun.
